Health Guarantee & Purchase Terms

At Majestic Hearts Maine Coons, the health and well-being of our kittens are our highest priority. We are committed to ethical breeding, responsible care, and full transparency. Each kitten we place is backed by a clear health guarantee designed to give you peace of mind.

1. Required Vet Check Within 10 Days

Within 10 days of receiving your Maine Coon kitten, you are required to take them to a licensed veterinarian for a full health examination. If the vet determines—within this period—that your kitten is suffering from a clinical illness, or has passed away due to a condition that likely originated before or at the time of delivery, you may:

• Return the kitten for a full refund

• Return the kitten for a replacement of equal value

• Keep the kitten and receive reimbursement for reasonable veterinary expenses, not to exceed the original purchase price

Please note: These options are not valid if the seller disclosed known health concerns at the time of sale and provided a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian.

2. Congenital or Hereditary Defects Within 30 Days

If a licensed veterinarian diagnoses a congenital or hereditary defect that negatively impacts your kitten’s health within 30 days of purchase, or if the kitten passes away from such a condition, the same options listed above apply.

In either case, you must provide the breeder with the veterinarian’s name, address, and phone number within 48 hours of the diagnosis to maintain your eligibility under the health guarantee.

3. Immediate Veterinary Examination Required (48 Hours)

You must have your kitten examined by a veterinarian within 48 hours of arrival. This ensures that the kitten was healthy upon delivery and that your vet is familiar with their condition in case of future concerns.

4. Health Disclaimer After Delivery

Once the kitten leaves our care, we are no longer liable for any exposure to illness. Please use caution when introducing your kitten to new environments, other pets, or areas where disease may be present. Treat your kitten with the same attentiveness as you would a newborn.

5. Pre-Shipment Care

If your kitten is shipped, it will have:

• Passed a veterinarian health check

• Received a health certificate

• Been dewormed and had at least its first vaccinations

Please note: Young kittens are especially prone to parasites due to environmental exposure. Continued deworming and vaccinations are the responsibility of the new owner and must be maintained according to your veterinarian’s advice.

6. Hereditary Defects & Replacement Policy

If a congenital or hereditary defect is diagnosed that poses a life-threatening issue, provide a veterinarian-signed statement of the defect. The kitten will be replaced with the next available kitten of equal value once the original kitten is returned.

7. Veterinary Expenses

We are not responsible for any veterinary costs incurred after the kitten has left our care.

8. Transfer of Ownership

This health guarantee becomes void if the kitten is sold, rehomed, or transferred to a third party without the breeder’s written consent.

9. Hypoglycemia & Stress-Related Illness

While less common in kittens than puppies, stress-induced conditions (such as hypoglycemia or digestive upset) may occur after travel or environmental changes. The new owner must observe and respond quickly to any signs of illness. The breeder is not responsible for issues resulting from neglect or stress mismanagement.

10. Medical History & Responsibility

By purchasing a kitten, you acknowledge that you have been informed of their current medical history. You agree to seek veterinary care when needed and assume all related expenses. If the kitten passes away, the breeder has the right to request an autopsy at the buyer’s expense. If the death is found to be due to a pre-existing, breeder-related condition, a replacement kitten will be provided.

11. Replacement Policy & Shipping Costs

If a replacement kitten is granted, the buyer is responsible for:

• Shipping costs to return the original kitten

• Shipping costs for the replacement kitten

If the buyer declines the replacement, the health guarantee is void.

12. Vaccination Policy

Our kittens receive vaccines and deworming treatments under our vet-approved schedule. Records of all vaccinations will be provided. Please follow your veterinarian’s continued schedule—over- or under-vaccination can be harmful to your kitten’s health.

13. Conditions Not Covered by Guarantee

Our health guarantee does not cover the following conditions:

• Upper respiratory infections

• Parasites (including coccidia, giardia, etc.)

• Mild diarrhea or dehydration from travel

• Feline herpes virus

• Congenital open fontanel

• Minor cosmetic or non-life-threatening concerns
